A friend told me a story recently about a colleague who walked into her office, in a panic about backing up the organizationâs files: âWhen do you do backups? How long has it been? I woke up in the middle of the night worrying about this. I couldnât find a backup disk. What if the hard drive crashed? WHAT WOULD WE DO?â
You might remember from a posting a few months ago about a web service called Mozy that we use to back up files.

Or maybe you remember the time your nephew emailed a forward to everyone he knew, everyone they knew, and even more people you didn’t know–and before you knew you it, your computer caught the crazy superbug-virusworm of the year. Then you shelled out hundreds for a techie …

Yes, you can now get a 500 G External Hard Drive – a nice one from Western Digital – for only $99. And while you’re there at Price Grabber, snoop around, it’s a great place to do price comparisons on almost anything you can buy online! BTW, this price is only good for 24 hours.
The item I’m currently drooling over is one of the Voice Recognition Nuvi – the 800 seriers, which have come down, predictablly, about $300 since their introduction. Predicting a holiday shopping discount in price!!

The excellent and only program we recommend for backup, Mozy, has been upgraded recently for the Mac and Windows. For most of you, the update will take place on its own. If you haven’t updated in a while, it’s time to update. Go to Mozy, log in, and choose “Download Mozy” from the left column. Choose either the Windows or Mac version, download and install it.
With this new update, you’ll know exactly which files that are being backed up (they’ll have green dots/check marks by them) and which ones , …

Well, was just trolling the Internet looking for reasons why small businesses fail. I’ve heard many times that if someone loses all their data, 7 times out of 10, they must close their doors. Quite sad really. So, imagine my suprise in teh following article where reason #7 was “not having a website.” Kinda cool knowing that I provide a service that stops people from failing.
In addition to doing website design, saving business, I also offer quite low online backup service. So I can help business do well in these …

Mozy 0n over to the Backup
Over the past 11 years that I’ve been in business, I’ve seen loads of hard drives fail. I would say in about 50% (or more), the computer has not been backed up. In about 80% of these times, we can recover the data. For 10% of the drives, these can be recovered with an expensive data recovery service at the prices starting at $1,900. The last 10% cannot be recovered. So, why not make it easy and pain free on yourself and click on over …
