Updates - Get
your Updates
Just a little serious stuff here...
Microsoft and
Apple are continuously making their products better (or fixing them, depending
on your POV). People are continuously probing and poking and their products,
trying to find holes in them. Here are a few examples:
The new ipod MP3 player, reported on Nov 6th and since fixed, erased ones hard
disk data when installing iTunes2:
http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1006-200-7797780.html
On Thursday, the 20th, MS released a patch to a bug in most of it's operating
systems: Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows XP, which allows hackers to burrow
into your computer hard drive from the Internet.
The moral of the story . . . make sure you update your Apple and Windows
products often, especially when the infamous messages comes up "View
critical updates." With Windows ME, Windows XP and Apple OS 8..x (I
think), automatic updates are enabled. To manually update your Windows, go to
the "Start" button, go to the top where it says "Windows
Updates." When the page comes up, click on "Product Updates" and
at minimum choose "Critical updates." I usually take all updates,
including IE 6.0. It's great!
If you have Windows XP - it's especially important to run your Windows Updates,
especially critical updates, NOW>

Typing
Tests
To those of
you old enough to remember the manual typewrites and typing tests...this is for
you...and for everyone else who's has to type, which is about all of us! I
started typing in Junior High school and typed 54 wpm on a manual typewriter. I
miss those old days. I now type on a miniature keyboard without a 10key.: http://www.keyalt.com/keyboards/minikeyboard.htm
. It's compact and eases typing pain. Check out many models here: http://www.keyalt.com/kkeybrdp.htm
