As I'm writing part 2 of this newsletter on the Palm OS handheld,
I've realized it's like writing about the complete guide to computers (only for
smaller versions). The Palm market is so HUGE, it's rivaling the computer
market. Here's part 2 of an on-going series of in-depth educational newsletter
articles. I'll be alternating this type of article with different slants. This
newsletter is based on your input. You vote by your comments, what you like,
what you don't and I'll modify things accordingly. I write this for you!
Enjoy,
Clyde

Beaming
your information to other Users
One of the
joys of having a POD (Palm Operating Device) is that you can easily share
information with others through the infrared port. This is similar to turning
the channels on your TV with a remote control. You can send your business card,
photos, games, and programs to others simply by "beaming" or sending
them without wires.
Printing
wirelessly using InfraRed
If you're
printer has a built-in infra-red port (most don't), you can purchase one of the
following products and printer you documents from your POD directly to the
printer:
http://www.stevenscreek.com/palm/palmprint.shtml
($40) or http://www.bachmannsoftware.com/products-printboy.htm
($20)
If printer doesn't have InfraRed Port - PrintBoy to the rescue! This cool
adapter changes any printer into an infrared printer through the printer's
parallel port.
http://www.bachmannsoftware.com/products.htm
(Make sure to get the printer adapter & Print Boy) for $90
If you need a
mobile infrared printing solution, get a SiPix, a printer which fits in the
palm of your hand:

New Client
Offer!!
For all new clients, have we got a
deal for you! To kick off your new year right, we're offering you $25 off your
first visit with us at your home or office. If we haven't visited you in the
past year, you qualify for this discount as well (Don't worry, current clients,
you'll be getting a separate deal via e-mail as well). For those of you outside
the SF Bay Area, including those of you outside the United States, we offer you
your first e-mail tech support question, answered within 8 hours, free of charge (a US$15
value!). To take advantage of this offer, we'll need your home city, state and
zip code for verification purposes. Extended through March 15, 2002.
I
want to read my e-mail on my POD. How do I do this?
1) Get
internal modem plug-in (Handspring) or a clip-on modem (for Palm V series).
These allow you to use your current ISP over a normal phone line (except for
AOL).
2) Get a POD with a built-in wireless modem: Palm i705 http://www.palm.com/products/palmi705/
3) Get an all in one unit with built-in keyboard Handspring Treo http://www.handspring.com/products/treo/index.jhtml?sub_nav_section=Overview&prod_cat_name=Treo
4) Get a POD
phone made by Kyocera and Samsung.

With every Handspring POD ever built, there's a slot in the back where you can
plug-in an add-on module. These modules range from Tiger Woods Golf to

the MP3 module.

Within the last year, Palm has offered an expansion card capability. These
expansion cards are mostly games and memory modules. They are limited in
numbers.
