Design Options FAQ

I've decided I want a website, how do I get started?
If you're ready to go, we require a deposit for half of the amount of your chosen package. See the
Payment Options FAQ for details. Once we receive your payment, we'll send you a checklist of the information you need to provide to us. We cannot start the design process until we receive everything from you. You say you'll get my site up in 2-3 weeks. When does the clock start? The time line will start when we receive all of your materials (text, photo/graphics) in a format that's ready to use and your deposit.



Once we get started with the process, what's the rush?
Web design is a creative process, which requires deep concentration to get the creative juices flowing. If we start and stop over several days or weeks, it interrupts the flow for all of us. As a result, you wouldn't get the benefit of the synergy that will happen when we all work together.



How can I make the process move as smoothly as possible?
The most important thing you can do is to provide us with all of your materials at once in a form that is ready to go! That means it's in the format that we need and that it's accurate and complete.



Do you have a photographer or is that something that I have to arrange?
If you live within 60 miles of Sunnyvale, California, we will be happy to provide this service to you on an "as quoted" basis.



Do I need a certain computer to view my web page as we are working on it?
No, you don't. The majority of the people who view websites use Netscape, AOL, or Internet Explorer. We optimize our pages for these browsers latest release. We also make sure our sites are designed to be viewed with a 800 x600 screen resolution and above.

As long as you have one of the aforementioned browsers, you'll have no problem viewing the site as we work on it.




Promotion FAQ

What's the benefit of just going for the Bronze Promotion Package?
It gives you a good start in getting the search engines to notice you. Using this method it could take 4-6 months to get "seen" by the search engines as they need to be reminded every month that you exist as you're competing with millions of other people trying to get a higher ranking then you.



What do you do during the first two months of the Silver Promotion Package?
We make your home page "search engine-ready" by working with you to get the exact title, description and keywords needed to help search engines categorize your site better. After massaging your accordingly home page, we'll submit your site to over 900 search engines.



After the first two months, what do you do within the Silver Promotion Package on a monthly basis?
We will continue to submit your site to over 900 search engines each month.



Can I sign up for just the initial two months worth, without investing in the ongoing service?
Yes, you can, but be aware that high placement is the result of submitting your site to search engines month after month and constantly re-tuning your site to meet the search engine ever-changing criteria.

If at some time during the year you decide you want us to do another submission for you we'd be happy to do that for the same $50.00 amount



How are the Silver and Gold Submission packages different?
With the Silver Submission Package, we submit your home page monthly to the top 15 search engines, plus a sampling of 900 other search engines.

With the Gold Submission Package, we work on all the key pages within your site to make sure each is in a form that the search engines can register. We will spend time getting to know you and your business so we will be able to help you publicize your site in the most effective way possible. Then we submit all of these pages over 1,500 search engines, including the top 15. We'll provide you with a banner ad and list you in several directories.



Why isn't my site listed at the top of each search?
Each search engine has a different way of capturing information from your site. Understanding all the various methods can be a job in and of itself! If you don't have the proper nomenclature embedded in your site, the search engines won't pick up your site. One of the benefits of our Promotion Packages is that we will help you create the text you need to make yourself visible to search engines.

Many statistics about the usage of your web site are available through the Site Statistics option in the Control Panel. Please visit our stats info page for more detail on how to use this feature.


Updating and Maintaining Your Website FAQ

What will you charge for making updates to my site?
You have two options here:

  1. Sign up for our Gold Hosting Plan which includes 30 minutes of editing a month;

  2. Pay $80/hour for us to make the updates to your site. There's a $20 minimum per update.


I'd really like to edit and update my site once it's up and running, is this okay?
We have no problem with you taking over on-going maintenance of your site. We'll be happy to work with you on an "on-call" basis when/if you need extra help.



What's the best software package to use if I want to update my site on my own?
We recommend you use either HomeSite or Dream Weaver which maintain the integrity of the pages as originally designed. This will help us if you ever ask us to step in to expand your site.


Payment Options FAQ

How do I pay for my site?
We have two methods of payment.

  1. You can pay via our website by clicking on the "Make Payment" button on the upper right corner of your screen. This will allow you to use Paypal, our online payment service, to pay using any major credit card.

    Paypal is a free, secure, online payment service that allows you to send (and receive) money via e-mail. Paypal with a customer base of over three million is the largest web-based payment network in the world and has 6,000 new members joining each day. Not surprisingly, Paypal is ranked the #1 eFinance site in the world according to ranking by PC Data Online. To use Paypal, you must register to become Paypal members. You may register prior to making a payment for the first time, or you may register at the time you make your first payment through Paypal.

    Basic registration is as simple as filling out an online purchase form. Once you're registered, you'll be able to make payments of up to $500 immediately. (As a bonus, Paypal will give you $5 just for signing up.)

    (If you would like to make a payment greater than $500, please register with Paypal several days in advance of making your payment so you'll be a verified Paypal member.) Once you are a member of Paypal, you'll be able to buy products and services from the growing number of online vendors and send/receive money to/from family and friends.
